Ozone for food packaging disinfection, avoid secondary pollution

Usually food companies focus on disinfection in the production process, but ignore the disinfection of packaging. Packaging is usually made of plastic, easily contaminated by bacteria in the air, causing food rot problems are very serious.

Traditional abuse of chemical disinfection, secondary residual pollution is very serious, and pollutants are often detected to exceed the standard. Nowadays, with the improvement of food safety standards, ozone disinfection technology has developed rapidly and is increasingly used in the food industry. Ozone not only cleans the air in the workshop, but also disinfects the water, and it is also important for the disinfection of the food itself and the packaging of the equipment. For some products using high temperature thermal disinfection methods, ozone can be perfectly replaced and the same disinfection effect can be achieved.

Ozone disinfection is very simple, there are 2 ways to use it for bottle and cap disinfection.

1.Place the bottle in a closed disinfection room, then inject ozone and disinfect it for 5-10 minutes before use to ensure that it does not contaminate the food. 2, can be soaked with ozone water, high concentration of ozone water to kill the bacteria inside the bottle.

When used in the sterilization of packaging bags, ozone can be directly disinfected. Ozone is a kind of gas that can be swept to various positions without disinfection.

Ozone disinfection mechanism

Ozone is a light blue, special taste gas. It is a strong oxidant. Its oxidizing ability is second only to fluorine in nature, and it kills almost all bacteria. Ozone reacts with bacteria, which use their strong oxidizing power to destroy the bacteria’s metabolic capacity and cause it to die. Ozone does not produce other pollutants during sterilization, this is why ozone is superior to other disinfection methods.

Application of ozone in food production:

1. Air disinfection, deodorization, deodorization, ozone removal of bacteria in the air and reaction with odor-causing molecules, leading to its extinction, to achieve disinfection and deodorization.

2. Ozone can kill bacterial propagules, spores, viruses, etc. in food production.

3, food preservation, ozone can inhibit the growth of mold, kill bacteria on the surface of the product, extend the shelf life.
