Ozone Disinfection Technology in Aquarium

The animals in the aquarium live in relatively closed exhibition halls, so the water quality requirements are very high. Nitrite, ammonia nitrogen, heavy metals and animal excreta can pollute the water, and the breeding of bacteria directly affects the health of the organism. Therefore, the water in the exhibition hall needs to be continuously circulated. Usually the pollutants in the water will be intercepted, the water can be recycled in the pavilion after disinfection. It is usually used to kill harmful microorganisms in water by ultraviolet sterilizer or ozone sterilizer. Ozone sterilizer in marine aquarium is currently a better sterilization method.

Marine aquatic organisms are not suitable for chlorine disinfection. Chlorine causes carcinogenic substances in the water, and the disinfection ability of chlorine is not as good as that of ozone. Under the same environment and concentration, the sterilization ability of ozone is 600-3000 times of chlorine. Ozone can be produced on-site. Dino Purification’s ozone generator is integrated design with built-in oxygen generator. It is very safe in use. Chlorine needs transportation and storage, sometime is dangerous.

Ozone is an environmentally friendly green type of fungicide. Ozone decomposes into oxygen in water. It has no residue. It can also increase the oxygen content in water and promote biological growth. Ozone has many kinds of ability in water, such as: sterilization, decolorization and oxidation.

1.Water disinfection and purification of water. Ozone is a strong oxidant. It kills almost all bacterial propagules and spores, viruses, E. coli, etc., and at the same time decolorizes and deodorizes, greatly improving the clarity of water. Without changing the natural nature of the water.

2.Degradation of organic matter: ozone reacts with complex organic matter and make it converted into simple organic matter, which changes the toxicity of the pollutant. At the same time, reduce the COD and BOD values in the water to further improve the water quality.

3.Degrading harmful substances such as nitrite and ammonia nitrogen which are harmful to fish. Ozone has a strong oxidizing ability in water. After reacting with harmful substances, it can be decomposed by the oxidizing ability of ozone. Other residues after decomposition can be biofiltered or otherwise removed to ensure water quality.
